The CGA Tour rules are simple:
- There are 4 events across the year, each with their own trophy:
- Cousins Masters (Joe’s event)
- Cousins Open (Paul’s event)
- St Andy’s Open (Andy’s event)
- CGA Championship (Dave’s event)
- In each event you get 4 points for winning, 3 points for second, 2 points for third, 1 point for fourth.
- If you win you get cut 2 shots off your handicap, 2nd cut 1 shot, 3rd gain one shot, 4th gain 2 shots.
- All points are totalled up for the year and the overall winner is simply the one with the most points.
- In the event of a tie for 1st place, it is based on the number of events won, then the number of events in 2nd place, etc, etc. If there is still a tie then it comes down to the results of the last event.
- (2025 new rule) At every event, each player is allowed one Mulligan at any stage in the round (but not when putting). This allows them to forget that shot happened, and allow them to re-place the ball and have another go without losing a shot.
